Loftia Demo

Loftia is an online community game by Qloud Games.  I've been avoiding most games like this because there are  a ton of them and most of them are free to play with malicious pay to win mechanics, or loot box gambling, or racism.  An online friend of mine assured me that Loftia had none of these faults and was enjoyable to play.  She has been in the beta, so she has experience with an unfinished version of the full game.

Character creator is fine.  You're a non-gender specific big eyed chibi no matter what you do, but you can wear any clothing in the game and have optional beards and glasses.  You can vary the height a little, but everybody is a big eyed chibi.  I'm okay with it, nice and simple.  I like to identify as a pasty, green eyed, chibi with brown hair on the internet anyways.  One nice thing, I can dye every clothing piece I get purple, free of charge, and change it whenever I please.  that's really nice.

Game mechanics are simple.  You pick up litter, and there's constantly respawning litter everywhere.  Pick up litter, turn it into materials, and sell them for cash.  There's also gardening and cooking, but I'm still figuring those out.  You can also keep the materials and use them for crafting machines, furniture, and clothing.  But the core gameplay loop is pick up trash, convert it to materials, and sell it.  There IS supposed to be fishing in this game, but after 3 days in the demo, I still haven't unlocked it yet, so it might be on hold for the full release.

 Will this replace Palia for me?  I dunno, but I'm willing to shove my money at it when it launches to find out.  I can make my own cosmetics in this game and that's a huge sell for me.
