For years, I've been enticed by the girls love visual novels of an indie writer who goes by Ebi-hime. However, before today, I have never been able to finish one! Finally, I corrected that issue today, by completing The Sad Story of Emmeline Burns. Now, I'd tried to read this one before, but I was much more emotionally fragile in 2019 and couldn't finish it, and stopped halfway. Today, with a more secure heart, I read it the entire way though! I'm not gonna lie, it got hella wordy some times, and I was frustrated that it told in words, rather than show the scenes with images, but all in all, it is a pretty good VN.
The artwork was very pretty. Everything was very soft colors and faint lines. This is not a sexy VN at all, but a really sweet one. I didn't like the walls of text that could have been summed up with a picture, but I believe Ebi-hime is a writer, not an artist, and the artworks were commissioned. I don't regret coming back to this one and feel like this opens up more of Ebi-hime's works to me! Which is good, because she's done a good deal of GL and even some BL over the years!
