Monster Hunter Wilds is the upcoming installment in the Monster Hunter series by Capcom. My husband is a huge fan, so I've been making an effort to learn how to play in older games to prepare for this release.
Since I didn't see an NDA anywhere, I'm going to post some pics from the character creator. I had a lot of fun making my hunter avatar. There were many presets to choose from, as well as many sliders to customize each preset with. In addition, everything could be custom colored with a color wheel.
You could choose your own base clothing, and there were only a few options, but some is better than none. I was quite happy to see I could choose the men's starting clothes. I'm assuming the men can choose the women's starting clothes too! Good for them! Not that I'm ever going to see this outfit again, but I still customized it anyway.
When all was said and done, I had a purple Palico, long brown braids, and an outfit with both parts from the feminine and masculine default outfit. Because why have a mini skirt when I can have pants? I really liked the hair options too. There was very long, flowy hair options both in straight and curly, and instead of the usual 1 twintails, there were 4! I went with twintail braids.
This is how my character looked in the opening. Decently colored, decently detailed, everything relatively what I picked in the character creator.
And this is what she looked like when I finally got to a playable mode. Very brown, very blobby, a little skippy. Honestly not sure if I need a new graphics card or not. Oh yeah, and the game crashed immediately.
On my second try, I was able to adjust the graphics a bit so they didn't suck. They were basically on terrible. Plus, I got rid of some Aliasing thing, which made everything much better. Then I beat one monster, and they thanked me for playing. Yeah, this was really all a short demo.
